People should sometimes do things that they don’t enjoy doing.

Life is challenging. In order to be happy and successful, we need to prepare ourselves on many fronts. Although participating in enjoyable activities is always desirable, in my view it is also necessary at times to do things we do not enjoy. The bases for my view are personal, social and financial.

Personally, doing things we don’t care for builds character and helps us mature. For instance, when parents have their first baby they are forced to give up their freedom in order to look after the child. There are times when parents barely get enough sleep and still have to get up and go to work in the morning. Similarly, when students are in school and university, they need to spend a lot of time studying. In spite of being tempted to go out with friends and attend parties, those who have self-control and keep their priorities straight are the ones who get high grades. Through such life experiences people become stronger, wiser and more responsible.

From a social perspective, we live in an interdependent world which imposes its obligations on us. Each person belongs to diverse social groups and plays various social roles. Each of us has to attend birthday parties, weddings and funerals to show we care about our fellow human beings. Participating in events for the sake of others teaches us to go beyond our own selfish needs and to share in the joys and sorrows of others.

Financially-speaking, people need to work - and spend - to keep the local, national and international economy growing. We need to support our own family in particular and our community in general. In fact, most of us work many more hours than we would like to work. What propels us to continue working is our financial needs, commitments and obligations. Only in this way are we able to live comfortable lifestyles and save for our retirement days.

In conclusion, life places huge demands on us. By participating in a wide variety of activities, both pleasant and unpleasant, we can discover more about our unique selves and live fuller lives.

Maci Bookout is finally writing her book !!

Teen Mom star Maci Bookout is finally writing her book, if The Twitter be true, since she tweeted over the weekend, "Just had a serious writing session… Damn. i cant wait for my book to be out."
Yay! The reality star, who got pregnant at 16 and became one of the very first 16 & Pregnant girls after her mom saw a Craigslist ad for a casting call, is one of my favorites. And not just because she’s a redhead.
Maci wasn’t the kid you’d expect to get pregnant in high school -- which is why she’s made it her goal to educate other girls about teen pregnancy prevention. She’s said that if she had known she could just go to a health center and get birth control, she would have. She’s trying to the scary out of needing birth control as a teen.
Maybe she’ll write about regrets? About the good things that can come out of bad decisions? Because she obviously adores her son Bentley, and I’m sure she doesn’t wish him off the face of the planet. But dang if being a very young mom isn’t tough stuff.
I would really love to see her get into some of the heartache and struggles she faced with teen pregnancy. We’ve recently learned that teen pregnancy is down more than it’s been in decades, and some have said it’s partly due to the real struggles portrayed on MTV’s 16 & Pregnant.
It’s tough. It shows what these girls give up not just when they get pregnant, but when the baby comes and things get really real. Babies are not accessories, and sex should not be treated lightly in terms of protecting yourself.
There’s nothing like getting into someone else’s head and heart to help you make better decisions for yourself. Good for Maci for putting herself out there and not being afraid to speak out about her struggles.

Maci’s Christmas list?

Maci Bookout has a short Christmas list this year, but her no. 1 item might be difficult for even Santa to obtain: Channing Tatum.

This morning, the Teen Mom star shared her biggest holiday hopes and dreams, including the married Magic Mike star, a new tattoo, and an in-home barista.

She tweeted:

With her busy schedule, we doubt she’ll have a vacation anytime soon, but the new ink and “higher bullshit tolerance” seem attainable! Plus, with Starbucks’ new Verismo system, she can brew her own lattes at home, too (without festive red cups, natch).

We think she deserves her entire wish list, though — our favorite redhead has definitely been on the “nice list” this year!

Are you surprised at Maci’s Christmas list? Tell us below!

Maci Bookout surprise's every one again with the way she dress For a wedding !

Maci Bookout and her fleet of brosefs are chillin' like villains in Mexico for a mutual friend's wedding, and you know what that means. The time has once again come for Maci to traipse around the beach wearing nothing but a string bikini. This ginger bombshell has an amazing body, and she isn't afraid to flaunt it — not even at her friend's wedding!
Check out the sassy (and barely-there) outfit that Maci wore to the ceremony — she's sporting short-shorts, a sheer white blazer, and a pink crop shirt. All we can say is va-va-voom. Maci's boyfriend, Taylor McKinney, is one lucky dude!
"What a beautiful day in Mexico for a wedding!" Maci posted to Instagram along with a picture of herself and Taylor with the bride and groom. "Happy to be a part of your special day."
Clearly, this wedding was super casual, and — despite the fact that our eyes immediately go to Maci in this picture — the bride looks amazing. By the way, this is Maci's friend Callie Baird, who got hitched to her main squeeze, Daniel McPherson. Congrats, guys!
What do you think of Maci's unusual wedding attire? Does she look chic and effortless or totally inappropriate? Remember — this wedding took place on a beach! We're pretty sure a thongkini would have been acceptable.

Being Maci Bookout isn't always easy.

Maci Bookout Defends Spanking Son Bentley After Being Maci PremiereBeing Maci Bookout isn't always easy. After the Sunday, Aug. 18 premiere of her MTV spin-off special, Being Maci, the formerTeen Mom star faced some criticism from viewers for spanking her 5-year-old son, Bentley, on the show.

"I'm gonna catch a bunchaaa s--t for spanking bentley . . . #parenting," the 21-year-old mom tweeted Sunday night.

During the one-hour MTV special about her life after Teen Mom,Bookout was shown struggling to juggle school, work and parenting Bentley with ex-fiance Ryan Edwards. In one scene, Bookout and her roommates treated Bentley to bowling after picking him up from school. But the tiny tot threw a fit over having to take turns, so Bookout excused herself to the bathroom with him and allegedly gave him a spanking that was not shown on camera.

"I got spanked as a kid for being a brat when I knew better," she tweeted, "so questioning this is questioning my parents and I take offense to that."

The young mom also wrote, "If Being Maci showed y'all anything it's that no matter whats happened I'm still just BEING MACI. Nothing will ever change that #beingmaci."

wedding bells the other day!

maci bookout and taylor mckinney friends wedding
Teen Mom star Maci Bookout and long-term boyfriend Taylor McKinney heard wedding bells the other day! Ah, no, not their own -- sorry to disappoint! Instead, the cute couple attended Maci's friends Hannah and Matt Lemoine's "I do"s in Athens, Georgia this past weekend.

In the pics of the happy occasion Maci shared on Instagram, the reality star is rocking her long, Ariel-esque red locks and her man's beard is suspiciously 20th President of the U.S. Garfield-ish, and that's cool. But what I'm not understanding at all is Maci's super-casual style -- a red crop top that almost looks like a sports bra (?!) paired with a black maxi skirt. NO ... just no.

I get what Maci was going for to some extent. She's edgy, sexy, bold, no wallflower. At least the skirt wasn't short, so she looked like she belonged at a club fist-pumping instead of at the nuptials of dear friends! But still. Had it been one garment -- a floor-length, color-blocked halter dress that covered her stomach -- I would have actually been into it. But the midriff aspect -- making it look like a sports bra and a yoga skirt -- wrecked it. Baring your midriff at a wedding is a flat-out fashion don't.

Of course there are more casual weddings that have far less stringent dress codes. Some people get married in their backyards and are all good with guests wearing anything from Hawaiian shirts to a short and flirty sundress. But I really feel like there are still some styles you simply do not wear to someone's wedding --

like a crop top or something that looks like a bathing suit or workout apparel or pajamas! Anything too casual, sloppy, or skimpy is OUT.

That said, Maci coulda done a lot worse, and of course she still managed to look glam. But maybe she'll learn with age that covering up her pupik next time would be the better, more sophisticated way to go.

Maci Bookout and her friend Hope landed in Miami !!

Maci Bookout and her friend Hope landed in Miami earlier this week and have wasted no time getting ready for New Year's Eve. In fact, they seem to be making a week long celebration of the festivities, starting with a night out at one of Miami's hottest nightclubs last night.

In a video posted to Maci's Keek account on Monday night, she and a friend are seen dancing at LIV Nightclub--and Maci is showing some skin.

Although the former Teen Mom is only seen for a brief few seconds in the video, fans can see that she is looking to be in great shape as usual as she dances around in a bright blue top which shows off her thin belly.

In the last few months, Maci, who has always been very thin, has expressed interest in putting on a few pounds, likely in muscle, but from the looks of her recent photos, she's perfectly healthy. Sure, she is on the small side, but that's just genetics!

Either way, Maci is in Miami and is sure to be having a great time with her friends in the next couple of days.
